*stumbles into journal brushing away the dust* Hello, everyone....it's been awhile I know. I kind of just disappeared without a saying other than I might upload here and there in between the midst of college but it seems I just forgot. This past spring term was a hell...I am not kidding either, the accounting class I took was enough for me to just stop doing photography most of the term which was honestly for the best because I needed to focus on school. Exciting news though is that I am in my last two semesters of university so in May 2018 I will be graduating with a Bachelor of fine arts. I am scared to see what the future has in store for me but I am sure it will be one good ride. I am still attending anime conventions as I already went to Anime Matsuri and I cosplayed as my Fire Emblem OC: Aura and I am attending Oni-Con 2017 all three days. Now for the meat of this journal: where am I uploading my work from now on because I am actually done with uploading my work to DA and I am honestly considering putting all my work in "storage". With that being said I am moving my work to 500px. 500px is a site for professional photographers alike to post their work and it is the perfect hub for my work. I will miss posting on DA but it's time to move from it. I've been using DA for the past 12 years and honestly, my work doesn't feel at home on Deviantart. I will still use the site for favoriting art or even commissioning pieces but I will no longer be posting on here. It was fun for the past 8 years posting my photography on here. But I need to move onto to a more professional platform within my field. Plus having my personal life mix with my photography business isn't professional at all. But if you do want to continue following me I will post some social media links where you can find me.

There's something about their art that I just love so much. I really love her fursona design and the wide range of style she had within her art. I suggest watching them.

I do apologize for this being really short..but I am running off of 2 hours of sleep...

Phew, this has been a long adventure with DeviantArt. Almost ten years that I have been on this site and I have seen change for the better in recent years. Yes people say it is overpopulated with teenagers who trace over work or who just sit at a desk and troll all day but I have never came across that and surprising I don't see DeviantArt as a place a hate. I see it as a hub for networking the best of the best artist whether, it be a traditional artist or a photographer that is what makes DeviantArt so great to me. I love seeing so many different styles of art that I sometimes can't wrap my mind around it. Cheesy I know but this site has held a lot of memories for me that will never leave my brain. So today I decided to tell you my story. My journey from when I found the site to where I am now. So here is a look back on the past ten years.

This will be a LONG journal post.

August 31, 2005  Age: 13

The day I joined DeviantArt at the age of 13. Yes I know this account was made on July 26, 2009 but I did have an older account and I did know about DeviantArt before I even joined but back in the day it was where all the best Neopets artist would post their art and I wanted to see it! So I joined under my alas of Jubertcat73 (Which I sometimes still use today) and thought to myself 'I want to be just like them one day!' Not knowing that ten years I would be a photographer. So I tried my hand at drawing, which I have been doing since around 2002 but let me tell you...my drawings were crap and I am not ashamed to say that now. I used to think they were the best thing on the earth until I kept getting made fun of because either the tails were REALLY huge...which was true ^^; or just my art sucked. Which was quite a downer on me but I will never forget spending hours and hours just browsing this site and seeing my idols work.

Just a few examples

These people I am about to name are the reason I am furry and what got me into the world of art.

These artist...man...These artist are the single reason I love art so much. :cries: I am literally tearing up as I type but all their art has moved me in such a way that I can't explain. Seeing their pieces of work over the past ten years has brought me happiness and has always inspired me. I know what your thinking "Your a photographer not a digital artist" I know that but back in 2005 I thought I would become a digital artist but it seems the world has other plans for me so I choose the photography route. I might be over thinking this but I always feel happy when I see their work today. Sadly though it wasn't all great, I was getting picked on at my school by bullies because middle school is when people think it is okay to pick on someone which latest about two years. But I met my best friend in 2005 because we talked about Neopets and we are still friends to this day, but I think drawing and seeing my idols art helped me cope with the bulling at school. At least that is how I see it.

So in 2005, I would draw everyday till the point where my wrist would hurt from drawing so much. Now i am about to show you my art from 2005-2006...Please know they are bad but for the purpose of this journal I don't mind showing them.

I think at that time I was would always do the same body shape. (I've always been horrible at bodies) But here is a sample of my work ten years. I didn't know how to use photoshop, I belive I had Photoshop 7 but I was always self taught and taught myself. But after all the bad feedback from people I wouldn't stop drawing because I thought my art was good. I look back on 2005 as a good year in a way even with the bullying.

2006-2007 Age: 14-15

Oh the year 2006, So many things happened that year. I got my first camera, I started volunteering at the zoo at 13 and kept drawing. So in 2006 my mother got me a cheap digital camera for Christmas in 2005 and I did start taking pictures but they are nothing like they're are today. They are pretty bad, Hey everyone has to start somewhere. But nonetheless, I was talking pictures even though I was still focused on drawing I would take photos in the meantime.
But I did start working at the zoo as someone who loved to educate the guest on the animals at the zoo.
I did some digging and found out these were some of my oldest pictures.

Now I know what your thinking. "These look nothing like what I can produce today" Well like said before everyone has to start somewhere. I was just taking photos for fun and I would either never upload them or just hide them from the public. I never thought they were good enough to be online. So the whole year of 2006 was just filled with more bullying and trying to deal with that and switching to a new school for high school. I would still look at my idols art. Thus ended 8th grade and I moved onto 9th grade.

Enter 9th grade. August 2007, at a new school and a new start. I had joined FFA but I couldn't raise an animal my first year due to not being able to have the money in time so I took photos around the farm quite a lot. This was when I realized I should do photography as a hobby.

2008 Age: 15-16

Early 2008 to be more like it. It was the Spring Branch FFA show and sale and since I didn't have an animal to show I entered some photos and cooking in the non-livestock contest. Little did I know, I won third place with my B/W photo which was this

This was my first winning piece ever and I soon came to realize I enjoyed taking photos like quite a lot. So throughout 2008 until the fall of that year. I took a bunch of photos and kept them hidden from the public eye yet again. Thus leading to Hurricane Ike, where we pretty didn't have September or at least that is how it felt and in October I got my first pig. Her name was Mooshuu and I loved her. I got 11th place with her and won about 1,000 dollars but going with my photography I entered two different show in between the main show at my school and got first place at both.

2009 Age: 16-17

Oh this was the year, the year I learned I had a gift for photography. In the spring of 2009, I entered this piece and won 1st place

This is when I was starting to notice a pattern here, A lot of my work was animals which was amazing and I kept shooting photos of them. At this point I had a new camera which I believe was called a Kodak Easy Share. I really don't remember because it's been so long but I really do think that is what it was called.

But this was when I figured I would try making the best animal pictures I could make. So what I did I do to practice that, well I used my Zoids. Surprisingly I was really well known for Zoid Photography in 2009-2012. I took so many pictures of my Zoids that I would see them on Zoids fan website. I would try getting as close I could to make the perfect with such detail and focus.

But at the time I only had about 5 Zoids in my process of recollecting my Zoids, so here are some of my earlier Zoids photos

I would do this to practice and it did end up working in my favor quite well because I still practice with this method today.

Throughout my junior year of high school I took my first photography class where my teacher just loved my work and always told me I had eye for photography. I didn't realize that till early 2010 where I showed my pig Chrona and entered two pieces of photography again.

This one and sadly I can't locate the other one but this picture won me Grand Champion overall that year and I got 2,000 dollars for this piece.
Well that is when I was told by the judges themselves that I should pressure this as a career and well I kinda stuck with that and ran with it. I am glad I did because this picture is the reason I still do photography today.

2010 Age: 17-18

Oh 2010, This was quite the fun year because I got my first paying job and I got my first and only boyfriend, I was quite the happy photographer at this point even more so when I started dating SunnyD, He has always supported me through my photography road and I am glad he does because he is like my little cheerleader along with my mother.

Even this is mostly going to about us dating I am going to jump into 2011.

2011 Age: 18-19

Finally graduated from high school and started college. Oh but that summer I took so many pictures...like sooooo many. I think I went outside everyday and took photos of my Zoids because looking back on it. It sure seemed like that. But during the summer is when I recused a little kitten right in front of my house and named her Reshiram (Reshi or Ram for short). This cat became my everything. She was my little daughter and I loved her. Now she is so used to getting her photo taken that she will pose for me.

Here are some of the photos I took throughout that summer.

Leading in the fall of 2011, where I started college at a community college and became judge at a county show I used to show at. This was quite the experience for me because I used to enter my work in that county and now I was judge. I also became a freelance photographer that year.

2012 Age: 19-20

So 2012, I was still taking photos like there was no tomorrow and loving it. Leading up the fall term where my school was holding a photography contest where nine lucky people would get their work put into a children's clinic and I was one of those 9 people with this image. I also was in a film photography class, which I didn't enjoy at all.

Leading into 2013.

2013 Age: 20-21

Okay we all know what happened this year, I took a break with my boyfriend and I got my fursuit and I also took a break from taking photo until fall 2014. So not much on this year...

2014 Age: 21-22

I did take break from photography this year until the Fall of 2014 and my spark for it just came back. I don't what made me want to do it again but I am sure glad it did because I have made some of the photos in years last year!
I started to take pictures for money for clients.

2015 Age 22-Almost 23

This brings me to this year. 2015. Ten years after I made my first Deviantart account and found out I was more of a photographer instead of traditional artist. I am happy with the path I took because I truly love taking photos. It's almost like documenting history at that moment and I wouldn't change that.

I will always look back on this and remember the years it took for me to get this point! Now that it is still May and this is 3 months early, This leads me with some questions?

Where my photography be at 2016?
Where will I be as a person in 2016?
Will people still continue to enjoy my work in 2016?

Well, I sure hope so. I hope I learn more ways to take photos and inspire new and young photographers who are barely getting started. That is what I want to do with my work. I want to move people in a way that cannot explain just like those artist moved me with their work ten years ago.

I owe it to those artist because I wouldn't have found out my true talent if it wasn't for them. I know it sounds silly but that is how I really feel and I hope it continue down the path of photography and share with the world what I see through my eyes. I feel like photographers have a different way of seeing things, like we almost see the world more artistic than other people.

But it wouldn't have started if it wasn't for me joining DeviantArt ten years ago....
hamtaro tears o' joy

I want to say, Thank you everyone for sticking with me for so long...even if you barely found out I do photography it truly means a lot...I work really hard on making the best images I can and plan to keep making the best images for you guys.

Here is to another 10 years.
